Sandy and Doug Rasmussen established the Travel Photo Art Website and Business in August 2006.  Our primary purpose is to share our joy of travel through Photos and Travel Journals.  We have met some very interesting people during our world travels and still correspond with many of them.  There is great  beauty in the world.  We hope you experience this beauty through our Photos.

 It is very educational and fascinating to experience other cultures.  We are a product of our heritage and culture.  From our travels it is clear to us that how we think is not how others think.  People are not basically alike.  This became very clear to us based on our experience of living in Indonesia for two years.   For peace to exist,  we truly have to understand other cultures.

We switched to all digital photography in 2003.  Our current SLR digital cameras are a 12 mega pixel Nikon D300  and a 8 mega pixel Canon 20D.  Galleries that include digital camera shot photos provide access to camera generated meta data.  Photos taken prior to 2003 are scanned 35mm and 6x4 medium format  film images.   All digital camera produced Jpeg and Raw photo files plus all scan  produced photo files have been Adobe Photoshop edited.  All Gallery Photos are high quality Jpeg files. 

Our world wide travels involve both "on our own" trips and commercial tours.  After using several tour companies we prefer Tauck Tours.  Most of our current foreign travel is with Tauck Tours.  Tours are convenient, a good value and allow us more time to focus on shooting Photos.  It is also a good way to meet interesting people in a relaxed environment.  Someone else is worrying about the details.   

We have used our photos in various ways.  They make unique pictures for your walls plus  great postcard and greeting card fronts.  Our Photos can  also be used to create "out of the ordinary" craft projects.
